Circumnavigation, the annual mass bike ride around Coronado started by Orange & Park in 2010, is the unofficial start to the island's legendary Independence Day festivities.
Each year, thousands of cyclists of all ages come together for Circumnavigation in a rolling party that starts at Star Park in the waning daylight of July 3rd... and doesn't really end until the calendar begrudgingly flips from the 4th of July to the 5th.
When we dreamed up Circumnavigation, we were pretty sure our friends and families would dig the concept; we had no idea it would grow to these dimensions or have the legs to become a such a lasting local tradition. Couldn't be more proud.
We decided to do a limited edition release of 24 full-color prints to commemorate Circumnavigation 2024, featuring photography by amphibious local lensman Will Holder. Head over to the shop to grab one while you can.
The typographic design of this print highlights the waypoints along the Circumnavigation route in a radial pattern that evokes the spokes of a wheel, an exploding firework, and the hot summer sun. The background is a photo of the face of a wave snapped by our friend Will in the teal Coronado surf in 2019.
